The Clothes:The clothes there are really cute I will admit. And the prices are VERY good (when on clearance). The only reason I ever go back to Cato is because they have affordable nice clothes.
I will say that the clothes begin to "come undone" after several washes. You will start to find strings falling out and tears here and there. But that's what happens with cute cheap clothes, they are made cheaply. If you keep them clean to were you don't need to wash them often then they will last longer.
My Rant: I will first state that Cato employees have a goal that is given to them each day to make through customers purchases. I will explain further, each morning the employees come in and are given lets say the goal of $350 for that day. (The goal changes each day) And if that employee does not make their goal, they get a frown from their boss the 1st time, if they don't make their goal several times in a row then their job is on the line. Needless to say the employees don't mind lying to customers saying things like "this is the latest fashion trend", "that looks great on you!", "Yes, those jean fit perfectly". They will say anything to get you to buy buy buy.
The Staff: I don't like that the girls are taught to be fake and pushy. I would rather be told that I look awful in an outfit (and it be true) rather than be lied to that I look presentable. I mean seriously what if you went here looking for a job interview outfit with no style sense hoping that these girls would help you? You would pick out this outfit and look like a clown while these girls are telling you that you look like a lawyer. It's just wrong to me. Don't go here expecting to get genuine style advice. If anything take a friend with you so there is someone with some sense! The next thing I will mention is that the staff makes fun of their customers! There is a disabled woman who frequently comes in to shop at this store who they call "the stinky lady." This woman has no legs and has to use an electric wheel chair to get around. I couldn't believe this when I heard them laughing and making fun of her. I wanted to cry! Obviously this woman is having trouble already and they had to make it worse on her? Another thing, if you aren't dressed "to the nines" they will follow you around like you are planning on stealing something. I remember this mother of three was walking around with her hair all frizzy and dressed down clothes on, and they literally were right on top of her. Everywhere she went they would be peeking around the corner at her. In the end she bought earrings and called the manager to say she would not return to this store. All the manager said was "ok" and shrugged her shoulders. How rude!!!!
Salespeople were friendly and very helpful. Great value for the prices.
