With all that said a well maintained course with very soft greens and rolling hills. Greens were a bit too soft. All that said, a 4.2/5. Most of these are easy fixes.
Course was in great even at this time of the year
Well maintained and picturesque course in southern Indiana. Did not like that I couldn't take cart to my car to pick up my clubs. Trivial, but I guess they have problems with carts being stolen?
I played this course 50 years ago and it's just as pretty and challenging today as it was then. The old growth forest throughout the course makes it an adventure and not just an outing. Great course and friendly staff.
This course is simply outstanding and well worth the $42 greens fee. It has a ton of character on just about every hole and was in excellent condition. The greens were fast and true, and the fairways were immaculate. While this course doesn't look too menacing on the scorecard, bring your A game because this is a true shot-makers course. If you are a first timer such as myself, if possible, I would recommend playing the course with someone who has played it a few times because there are a couple creeks and a few bunkers hidden from view until you get right up on them.
Beautiful course but the day was ruined by the owner. Was not aware that beer was to only be bought at the clubhouse. I brought my own. It ended up pouring down rain and we were under a tree waiting for the shower to go by. The owner comes down to tell us that he is shutting down the course for the day which I had no problem with. He then proceeds to talk to us walks up to our cart and flips open the cooler digs through the bottled water and finds the beer in the ice in the bottom. This is where it gets hairy. He starts to yell at us and tells us to "GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE" "WHAT IS A MATTER WITH YOU" I then asked him politely what the problem was he continued to yell. I explained to him that this was my first time at the course with my cousin (I am from Bloomington) He continues to yell and says " I DON'T GIVE A DAMN WHERE YOU ARE FROM" I told him I honestly didn't have a clue. I noticed there were a few beer cans on his cart so I assume he had too many. We started on the back nine and had only played four holes he told us he would give us half of our money back and proceeded to yell. Felt very unfair. I would not recommend this course solely because of our experience with the owner. The rest of the staff was excellent and helpful. Like I said an outstanding course just disappointed by the owner and his way of handling a situation that could have had a completely different outcome.
Went early to hit driving range balls. Cash only range and have to put dollars in the machine to get balls. They don't do cash back either. Frustrating, I understand, but it's 2017 they should have a way to help people that don't carry cash. They must be okay missing out on money. Don't forget cash!
